About the Space

This is the working studio of an East Austin architecture firm — built by the firm, for the firm, and available to rent when not in use. The 700-square-foot standalone building is a study in material honesty: exposed framing, corrugated metal exterior, plywood interiors, and polished concrete floors. Light enters through the skylight, casement, and slider windows, French doors to the garden, and a cathedral ceiling that keeps the volume feeling open. Nothing here is fake — it looks this way because it was designed to. Two connected open rooms give the space flexibility: one anchored by a large work table and bookcase, the other quieter with soft natural light. A deep front porch with an outdoor sink extends the usable footprint and provides a natural staging area or overflow seating. The kitchenette, full bathroom, washer/dryer, and seven-car parking make all-day sessions practical without friction. The space works well for: editorial and product shoots, documentary interviews, brand video, off-site workshops, creative team meetings, and small events. Recent guests include a 10-person video production crew and a 15-person all-day team meeting. Parking is on-site. Street-level entry. Wheelchair accessible. Located just a few minutes from downtown, Austin's East Side, and the 183/71 interchange. It's alos only about 10 minutes from the airport!
