About the Space

A two story contemporary American bistro with a timeless, eclectic - slightly old world feel - on a pedestrian plaza (closed to vehicles) less than one block from the Grove St PATH station. The two story building dates back over 150 years, preceding the civil war. The ground floor has a 12 seat mahogany bar, and table seating for about 20. The back bar is dark wood with large mirrors, the walls are exposed brick, and there is an ornate copper ceiling. The second floor dining room is a loft space with 16' ceilings and seating for up to 60. The space is about 1200 square feet. It is appointed with a chandelier, Turkish hanging lamps, a working gas fireplace, reclaimed church pews for seating, exposed brick walls, and ornamental decorations. Many of the features are salvaged from a former church, train station and hotel, creating a wood laden space that is comfortable and welcoming. There is a third floor (so to speak) - a rooftop garden and patio. It is uncovered and dependent upon the weather, but a charming space of about 400 square feet with decorative furniture and ornamental plants. There is a small bar which can accommodate two seats, and plants which produce fresh herbs, berries and flowers.
