The street level space is approximately 1,500 sq. ft., located within a historic brick building. The studio has exposed brick walls, 12 foot black ceilings and painted white floors. Extra large windows across the whole storefront bring natural light to the farthest corner of the space.
The reception area has a beautiful art installation made of rolled canvas hung with custom bamboo fixtures, showing the grandness of the space. The art piece is flanked by 2 antique arched windows, bringing light from the front reception area into the 600 square foot main studio. The main studio has neutral walls, black ceiling, antique double French doors and open space that can be used for anything; classes, workshops, baby & bridel showers, cocktail parties or a formal sit-down dinner. The lighting is a series of bamboo hanging fixtures that can be moved around as needed with a central extra large gold-painted pendant, that can easily be changed out to any style light.
The 5 foot wide hallway off the reception area leads to the back of the space which includes the main studio entrance, bathroom and single change room. The hallway has one side exposed brick with the other remaining a bare, neutral wall, lending the space to be used as anything including an art gallery.
On the other side of the sun-filled reception area is a small studio, only 150 square feet, that can be used to store equipment, a make-shift kitchen area or for hair and make-up. Exposed brick, a large window, a neutral wall and sliding French doors make this an ideal space for portrait work.
The space has white blinds that help to filter the direct, afternoon sunlight, creating a serene ambiance. The floor is covered in a mosaic of colourful Parisian rugs bringing warmth to the space, while the perfect amount of plants brings a a feeling of life and calmness.
What can I say...the space is gorgeous!
