1870 Greek Revival Farmhouse:
Our property, part of a National Register historic district, consists of 60 beautiful acres of wooded and open land along the Apalachee River close to Athens, GA. At this location are several historic and new structures: (1) an 1870 Greek Revival farmhouse (2) a 19th century tenant house, now a cabin listed on Airbnb (3) a 19th century Baptist church and library, used as an event space (4) a 19th century Methodist church with original interior (5) fully functioning woodworking, metalworking, and blacksmith shops (6) a timber framed woodworking shop housing old tools (7) a large rustic shelter with a fire pit at the pond (8) a bath house which looks like an old country store with vintage signs (9) our personal home and garden. Most of these buildings are tucked away off the highway, but are easily accessible by vehicles. In addition to these structures, the property boasts natural and constructed features: (1) frontage on the Apalachee River with canoe launch and bridge (2) scenic pond with dock and fishing boat (3) creek and walking trails (4) 3 old graveyards (5) 12 stone terraces that slope down toward the river, constructed in the 1800s for farming. Because the land is located in a historic district, our property and the surrounding properties appear as they would have 100 years ago.
