The space was wonderful to film in and Bryce was super nice and easy to work with! Our crew loved the space and was able to get some great footage with it. The black out curtains worked great for swapping the space from bright daylight studio to a dark/night scene! Would film here again in a heartbeat!

  • Film Shoots/Photo Shoots – Killer Content and Epic Shots. Empty warehouses are every photographer and filmmaker’s dream location. Sure, you can go to another UK region or city, but why travel when you can create different scenes in one huge space? You’re free to build sets and change them as you like.

  • Concerts and Performances – Amplify the Night (or Day). Do you want to organize a live performance or a concert, but the weather won’t let you host one outdoors? An empty warehouse is your answer and London has numerous expensive industrial spaces that double as concert venues. Set up lights, a dance floor, and a good sound system, and you’re good to go.

  • Art Exhibitions and Trade Shows – All About Freedom and Creativity. Calling all artists, exhibitors, and creators—a warehouse might be the perfect place to show off your new offerings and masterpieces. We have versatile warehouses where you can have booths and even demo areas.

  • Private Parties – For Legendary Celebrations. Baby showers, birthdays, anniversaries, or maybe you just need an excuse to get together—whatever it may be, a warehouse party is sure to be epic. • Weddings – Start Your Forever with a Bang. No need for separate locations for the wedding ceremony and reception. You can create different sections or do everything in a single space. Play with lights, decorate with flowers or candles to highlight the rustic look, or add natural elements for your dream wedding.

Essentials for an Empty Warehouse Space

Are you finally convinced to use an empty warehouse space for your next event or production project? Don't just pick the first place you see. Do your homework as you search and ask a lot of questions to find the best one for your needs.

Does it feel right? This is all about the look and overall vibe of the space. On Giggster, you can choose from cool and creative, raw and industrial, vintage and elegant, or something distressed and old.

How much space do you need? Just because it looks good doesn’t mean it’s the right fit. Don’t just estimate it with your eyes—consider how many people you’ll have and if you'll have to set up a dance floor, a stage, seating areas, etc. Even better if you can measure it.

Is it easy to get to? Even if your team or guests will drive to the venue, you won’t want them to be on the road for hours just to reach the location. And what about those who’ll need to commute and must be at the venue on time?

Things to Consider When Renting an Empty Warehouse Venue

Spacious, open, versatile, and has a lot of personality—what's not to love about empty warehouse spaces for events? This venue type is becoming more popular these days and it's easy to see why, but you'd want to review and analyse its pros and cons to avoid unpleasant surprises later on.

Advantages

  • When you rent a UK empty warehouse, you can expect plenty of room for whatever event you want to host. You can have a wide, open space to dance and mingle or create different sections or sets.

  • No one can deny the versatility of these blank canvas venues. Although they have a distinct look, the space is easy to transform to fit any vibe or look you’re going for.

  • Warehouses have this raw, industrial feel you can’t just get in regular event spaces or hotel ballrooms. The lighting (or the lack of it), exposed bricks or beams, high ceilings, and walls that often have signs of wear and tear are all part of the appeal.

Disadvantages

  • Warehouses are often rough, so if a clean, polished look is what you’re after, you might have to opt for traditional venues.

  • Because of their blank canvas nature, you’ll have to do pretty much everything to fill the space, from the lighting and sound to décor and furniture.

  • Warehouses are not always pristine, so expect a general unfinished look with some peeling paint that requires a lot of work to make it suitable for formal events.

Getting Ready for an Empty Warehouse Rental

Warehouse spaces, like any place, are not perfect, but book the right one for your event or project, and you’re in for a treat. But how do we turn this raw space into something your guests or audience will love? We have a few ideas you might want to consider.

Set a Budget – Set your budget before you get too carried away and fill the space with fancy decorations and furniture that are way outside your price range. Other services like catering and photography cost money, too.

Power is Essential – Old warehouses can be tricky with electricity—sometimes it's outdated or they may not work at all. Generators are a must, but if you don't want to deal with an additional expense, check the venue’s electrical capacity before you book.

Decorate the Space – This is where the fun begins. Roll off your sleeves or hire the right people to decorate and style the empty warehouse to make it your own or create the look you want.

Have a Backup Plan – Sound system fails, AC issues, lighting is not working? Things happen, but you won’t want your event or shoot to be delayed just because you didn’t prepare for the unexpected. Always have a backup plan for possible problems, so nothing puts a damper on your event.

Saving Money on Empty Warehouse Events

Dreaming of a killer warehouse party but worried about the cost? Giggster has your back with our venues that start at just £20/hour. But aside from the venue, there are numerous items you must spend on that could drain your bank account, and we’re here to give you some ideas on how to save money without sacrificing fun.

Expand your search radius.

You might prefer an empty warehouse space in the city centre that's close to all the action, but most places in those trendy, well-known spots tend to cost more. Why don’t you look a little further out? Not only will you find budget-friendly options and services, but you might also discover hidden gems with an instant wow factor.

Shop around for vendors.

It's easy to go with the first option you find or the ones you've always worked with, even if they're a bit pricey. But that's not the way to go if you want to save cash. Contact different vendors and get a quote for their services, and then pick the ones within your budget.

Should you buy or rent?

For things like decor, AV equipment, and furniture, you must ask yourself: Will I use this again in the future? If yes, buy it. If not, then you better rent it—it saves you cash and storage space
