Sean's place was great for a photoshoot. The large windows and skylight bring in plenty of natural light. There's also plenty of street parking outside, as well as an underground parking lot across the street. Very contemporary, spacious, and well decorated studio space - wonderful for any kind of shoot!

The right setting can make all the difference. That’s why it’s worth putting a little thought into it. Lucky for you, Giggster has 3378 venues in London and throughout the UK, and if you need a bit of inspiration, here are some ideas to consider.

  • Modern Studios – Sleek and Ready for Your Story. Clean lines, state-of-the-art equipment, bright spaces, and a professional vibe—these and more are what you can expect from modern studios. We have sorts of studio spaces you can rent, from light-filled dance studios to film and photography spaces.

  • Restaurants and Bars – The Perfect Blend of Business and Pleasure. For something a little more social, take the press out of the office building or studio and into a restaurant or bar with private rooms. If you want to build relationships with journalists, it’s the way to go.

  • Unique Venues – Wow Your Press. Are you tired of those cookie-cutter spaces and looking for something out of the ordinary? Art galleries, historic buildings, rooftop terraces, Gothic venues, and palace gardens will leave them in awe. No matter what look and vibe you’re in the mood for, we have unique press event venues handpicked just for you.

  • Industrial Spaces – Your Blank Canvas Venue. Maybe you want to add your personal touch to your event and make it your own. Industrial spaces like warehouses, factories, and even derelict venues are like blank canvas venues you can dress up (or down) to create the look you want.

Essentials for a Press Event Location

So, now you have a good list of potential press event venues to hire, but the hunt is far from over! To find the perfect backdrop to your event, you have to think about more than just the space itself.

Is it easy for journalists to get to? Not only is the place easy to find but getting there shouldn’t be a hassle, whether they’re taking public transport or driving to the location. A venue in central London is ideal if you’re in the British capital, or choose from different spaces near transport hubs like Oxford Circus Tube Station and King’s Cross.

Does it have enough space? Not too big and not too small—that’s the goal. It should be just right, which means there’s enough room for all the reporters and their crew, but not so much that it feels empty.

Do they have the AV setup you need? The last thing you’d want is to experience tech glitches like the microphone not working in the middle of the press conference. Reliable WiFi, a decent projector, good lighting, and quality sound are non-negotiables.

How to Plan a Press Event

Press events can be a powerful tool to get your story out there and be heard. But a successful one doesn’t just happen—there’s a ton of behind-the-scenes stuff you don’t see. If it’s your turn to organise one, don’t worry because we’ve compiled a few proven hacks to make it work.

Determine the “Why” and the “What” – For starters, what’s the point of the press event? Are you announcing a partnership, expanding your business, launching a new product, or simply responding to a public reaction? Then, what’s the key message you want to say to the world? Once you have the answer to these questions, you’ll figure out all the other stuff, like who to invite and where to hold it.

Choose a Press Event Venue Where to host your event can be just as important as the message you want to say. It plays a role in how the media and your audience will respond or react to your story. Therefore, not only should it be well-equipped and centrally located but the vibe must also match your brand or message.

Send Out Invitations – Create a list of media outlets you want to attend the press event and email out a press release. You can also reach out to them via phone call and then follow up with an email afterwards.

Assemble a Team – They’re your support system, so let them help you with the task—don’t try to do it all yourself. Delegate tasks and ensure everyone is aware of their role.

Press Event Expenses to Plan For

Planning a press event is like throwing a party, but with slightly more pressure and those journalists as part of your guest list. And like any good party, it comes with a price tag, so before you start inviting reporters, let’s talk about the typical expenses you must plan for.

Where will you hold the press event?

Most of your budget will likely go to the venue, and its rental cost will depend on many factors like the size, location, features, and how fancy it is. Set your price range, check out our budget-friendly options on the Giggster, and pick one that’s within your budget and matches your vision.

Who’s helping out?

If you need extra hands to manage your event and set up the space, you must set aside funds for their fees. And get their rate upfront to avoid costly surprises later.

Who's taking care of marketing and promotion?

You’re organising a press event so that people can know what you have to say, but how are you getting the word out? Although you’re not paying reporters to attend the event, you might need to run social media ads or create a landing page to reach more people, and all these cost money.
