Hi, my name is Paulina :) My family has owned and managed the Laughing Bean for over 18 years. I was serving customers and pulling espresso shots from a step stool by the time I was 12! My unique upbringing has evolved into a healthy caffeine addiction and love for interacting with a wide variety of people. My travels have taken me around the world, but coming back to this place always feels like home, and I know it will for you too.

East Van Cafe for Film Shoots & Meet-Ups Paulina and Rebecca were amazing hosts! Initially, they were very communicative and clear on their guidelines. They accommodated all of our needs, and went way beyond our expectations as hosts. Both of them were friendly, caring, and super hospitable. Their space is flexible to host for any type of event and I would definitely recommend and book again. I am beyond content with my experience!

East Van Cafe for Film Shoots & Meet-Ups Both Paulina and Rebecca were so amazing to work with through booking and the entire event. The space is so cool and versatile with the ability to be inside or out on the patio and it was perfect for our birthday party. Rebecca was so helpful and accommodating and are sure everything went off without a hitch. The decor on the walls is awesome and the venue has a ton of character so I didn’t feel like I needed to decorate at all. Rebecca was also super kind to provide things I had forgotten like a lighter and knife for the candles and cake. Thank you both so much!
