We booked Conscious Labs for our engagement party this Summer. Let me start with the obvious - the venue is gorgeous. The exposed brick is beautiful, the venue needs minimal décor, and we got lots of compliments on the space we chose. The venue being split into two rooms was helpful and there is a full working kitchen available, which makes it easy for a caterer to set-up (there is no elevator, so consider that when booking your vendors!). Orson was gracious in allowing us to set-up a little early and picking up a few items/doing a final tidy the next morning (rather than the night-of).
While the venue was beautiful, we did have a number of struggles, and I debated sharing this for a while, but ultimately, I would have wanted to know this prior to booking. We had a tour and walk-through in early 2024, months before booking the venue where both sides of the space were shown and communicated to be included in the booking fee. Months later, when chatting with Orson, he shared that the pricing had actually now been increased and was only for the single open space, but he would do us a "favor" and allow us to keep the rate which we booked. We found this strange, as we had already booked the space as previously advertised pricing, paid, and signed the contract.
There is no "information package" provided for an overview on the venue (ex. entry/exit instructions, best practices with the space, cleaning instructions, price-list for add-ons, etc.) so I had to message Orson constantly - while a bit of extra work, this wasn't the end of the world, but with so much back and forth there was naturally some miscommunication. We had ordered a bar and a few cocktail tables, but only the cocktail tables were prepped and ready to go. Thankfully, with a reminder, the bar was able to be set-up, but if we hadn't checked in the day prior, we would've likely been left without a bar.
Regarding clean-up, we were told that a cleaning team would come in and to make sure any additional bags of empties were put in the alleyway by the bins (we couldn't place them inside, as it was padlocked). We got an angry text message and phone call from Orson the day after, asking why we had left the empties in the alley (as he instructed in his message) and said the bags were being rummaged through, creating a mess. We felt super apologetic about this, but shared that we followed his instructions. He stated that there was a key for the garbage hanging on a hook inside the venue and we "should have known". Later, he called back and apologized for the miscommunication and acknowledged that he didn't share that information, but we felt this was in poor form.
We believe our review is a fair overview of how great the space truly is and the issues we ran into - while we wouldn't rebook the space given these problems, it's a great location for events.

Conscious Lab is a beautiful space. We booked it for our wedding ceremony and it was perfect. It was very spacious and included a large room with a kitchen which served as a great place for the bridal party to get ready in. Orson was very responsive and accommodating and made our access to the space as easy as can be. We definitely recommend booking this space for your wedding/event!

The space is fantastic and unique, we had a great shoot there. Orson was incredibly nice and easy to work with. Would highly recommend!

The space is amazing. Everyone loved the design and it can be arranged to fit such a wide array of events. We are definitely keeping it bookmarked for future event plans!

This space is absolutely stunning. Orson was so accommodating and kind. The feel of this place is so warm and welcoming and we loved it! Highly recommend.
