The first time we booked this venue we were told that 8 tables would be provided, which is what’s seen on their website photos and was on their listing. We only received 5 tables and had a number of people with no space to sit, where a classroom setting was needed. We also had nowhere to put our laptops or notes. It reflected poorly on our event. When we complained, they brought us a tiny stool for our laptop which was smaller than the chairs they had in the room. We booked again as we generally liked the space and they offered a $25 discount and a reduction on the deposit. The space had what we needed (aside from the correct number of tables) and it’s reasonably priced which works well for us as we are not-for profit and aim to provide affordable training to women in business. We had to shorten our recent full day booking to a half day booking 2 weeks after we booked our last event. We informed the venue right away, two weeks prior to the event. We were assured by Charlotte that a refund for the 4 hours would be issued after the event. The other day, she messaged us and said that the refund was on the way; however, a few hours later, she informed us that the owner of the venue, Jennifer, didn’t want to issue a refund for the 4 hours as she claims she held the room for us for 1 month. That’s not true, it was held for 2 weeks and there is no such policy written anywhere. Aside from that, we were assured twice that a refund would be issued. Going back on something like that is really poor service. Since then, they have stopped communication and have not issued the refund. We paid for 8 hours less $25, and only used the space for 4 hours. We were prepared to make this our go-to venue for most of our workshops as we liked that it was a female operated space, was fairly central, clean and affordable. We support female run business whenever and however we can, do this turn of events has been really disappointing. We even recommended the venue to a few of our contacts, one of which booked the space as well. After this experience though, we will never come back again. We operate 2 individual businesses aside from BIZ Sassy, and have handled hundreds of clients and we can say that we have never gone back on our word or provided false assurance to anyone with no intention to follow through. It’s a poor way to handle business and has left a bad impression on us and our network of women in business, and all for $80.

Booking the space with Charlotte was very easy! Instructions were readily available and well detailed. She was easy to communicate with and the space was perfect for our event!
