About the Space
Lidsey Lodge offers generous living accommodation arranged across three floors. Many original period features are retained, and the nicely presented property offers a wealth of character, partially modernised. Off the traditional reception hall there is a spacious dual aspect reading with an attractive open fireplace. The adjacent sitting room also features an open fireplace, and double doors lead into the light-filled sun room, where south-facing patio doors overlook the garden. The kitchen/dining room has fitted units, an AGA cooker, an electric hob and separate double oven. There is plenty of space for dining and a large walk-in pantry. A door leads to the original Victorian kitchen, now used as a garage, with Victorian range and bread oven still in situ, and backstairs. Also on the ground floor there is a snug (original farmhouse office), with an external door to the side, and a useful coat-room/store. On the first floor there is a generously proportioned dual-aspect cinema room which has potential to be a further sitting room or an additional bedroom. Also on the first floor, the master bedroom benefits from built-in wardrobes and an en-suite wet room. Three further bedrooms on this floor are all of a good size, and are serviced by a generously sized family bathroom, as well as a W.C. Two further double bedrooms are located on the second floor, along with a second family bathroom and plenty of eaves storage. Situated in a peaceful semi-rural part of West Sussex, Lidsey Lodge enjoys proximity to unspoilt countryside and is less than 3 miles from the south coast; nearby Bognor Regis is a traditional seaside resort. Train services from Barnham Station offer mainline connections including London Victoria. The City of Chichester, with its renowned Cathedral, Festival Theatre and Pallant Gallery offers a wide range of shopping, dining, leisure and cultural options. There is easy access to the South Downs National Park for walking, cycling and riding and Goodwood is well known for sporting events. Approached via a sweeping driveway offering space for parking several vehicles, the brick and flint front elevations of this characterful property are a splendid sight. The area to the front of the property is beautifully landscaped and laid to lawn with mature shrubs and trees. At the rear there is a generously-sized garden, with lawns on two levels and to the side, an attractive retaining wall, hedging and a pretty pond area just outside the sunroom. Of particular note is the wonderful rural setting with far-reaching countryside views. Lidsey Lodge benefits from two spacious double-fronted garages, one integrated and one large detached with inspection pit, plus two workshops, a wood store and three stables.
