About the Space

The Old Palace is a historic venue of international renown, famous for being the place where Queen Elizabeth I spent a happy childhood, and where she hosted her first council of state as the young queen. This stunning building is one of the foremost examples of mediaeval brickwork in the country, and its beautiful wall hangings provide the perfect backdrop for any event, whilst the breath-takingly alluring Knot Gardens provide the perfect setting for a drinks reception or break out area. The venue is the perfect setting for meetings and conferences, corporate and private parties, marriage ceremonies and receptions (licensed for civil ceremonies and marriages), banquets and other events. Please note that the park hosts a number of festivals/events which may fall on the same day as your event however you will be given prior notice of such events. Every wedding must have security which depend on the number of guests, this can be arranged by our Hospitality Team at an additional charge, charges from £750.00 ex vat.
