About the Space

The Livery Hall is the larger of the two function rooms and serves as the setting for many formal dinners and luncheons. The rich, warm tones of Brazilian mahogany panelling combine with the vibrant red of a brand-new suite of luxuriously comfortable dining chairs to create a sophisticated yet welcoming atmosphere for any dining experience or conference. The Hall’s crowning glory is the Piper Windows, designed by painter, glazier, and war artist John Piper. These three windows were specially commissioned to commemorate the three halls that previously occupied the site and were lost to the Great Fire of 1666, the Thames Street Fire of 1715, and the Blitz in 1940. Their contrasting palette of deep, brooding midnight blues lifted by vibrant oranges and reds adds to the character of the space and provides a splash of brilliant colour on sunny days.
