About the Space
A fairy-tale setting with a fascinating history, Hodsock Priory is a magnificent country house in Nottinghamshire. Once host to entertaining Henry VIII, the setting is now a timeless escape with a nod to years gone by. This carefully restored Victorian country house is an award-winning luxury wedding and event venue, surrounded by breath taking views and presented within luxurious gardens and rolling fields. With unforgettable interiors and perfectly manicured gardens, will provide a distinctive backdrop to any production or event. Whether you are looking to hold a celebration, corporate event or are searching for a venue for production, we offer a unique setting and an award-winning team to take care of every last detail. The timeless venue lends itself both inside and outside to a range of filming opportunities including movies, television programmes, historic documentaries, advertising campaigns and photoshoots. Hodsock Priory provides exceptional interiors for film, with each room boasting its own individual character and history. The priory has six key reception spaces on the ground floor, with 7 bedrooms on the 2nd floor. In the grounds, we have 10 courtyard bedrooms along with a dressing room and clubhouse. All rooms are superbly finished in keeping with the Priory and provide a variety of spaces for production. Hodsock Priory is surrounded by 800 acres of Nottinghamshire countryside, including five acres of formal gardens. Landscaped in 1967, Hodsock Priory gardens and outdoor spaces are a true point of pride. Our classic English country gardens offer immaculate lawns, exquisitely planted gardens and a fabulous Italian-style terrace and are not accessible to the public, guaranteeing seclusion and privacy for all filming. The Tudor Gatehouse is one of the first things you will see upon arrival at the Hodsock Estate. It was built in the early 16th century. In the summer of 1541, King Henry VIII visited Sir Gervase Clifton to bestow upon him his knighthood, and it is believed that the Gatehouse was built for this occasion. Situated at the end of the mile-long drive, the Gatehouse is one of only three Tudor brick-built buildings in Nottinghamshire, making it both utterly beautiful and extremely rare.
