About the Space
Situated on the east side of Southampton High Street just north of Holy Rood Church, Kitchen is located in a unique building constructed in the 1850s. It is a purpose-built three-storey commercial building with Italianate details. In the 19th and early 20th centuries it was the premises of the Wilts and Dorset Bank and later Lloyd’s Bank. After World War Two it housed a branch of the Woolwich Building Society, hence the name Woolwich House. It was converted to a public house in the 1990s and later in 2019. The main restaurant seats just over 120 people and there is an additional private room which can accommodate up to 40 guests for a completely private dining experience. One of the few private dining venues in Southampton.
