About the Space

A single oak-framed barn annex set in four acres of private grounds on the Somerset Levels. Vaulted oak interiors, a full-height glass gable, a hot tub and sauna, and gardens of sculpted yew, orchard and open paddock. Every photo is a real, unstaged photograph of the property. INSIDE The open-plan living and kitchen space is open to the roof, so the ceiling rises the full height of the building, framed by curved oak braces and trusses. The gable end is floor-to-ceiling glass and fills the room with natural light. There are no blinds or curtains, so please bring your own flags or blackout cloth if you need to control the light. Oak boards throughout the ground floor, a white kitchen with lime-green units and island, a red leather corner sofa and a patterned wool rug. Furniture can be moved within the room but not taken out of it. Upstairs is a timber-vaulted bedroom under exposed oak trusses with two king-size beds, warm-white fairy lights, a skylight and a chaise longue (ceiling about 3 m at its highest, carpeted). It works well as a hair, makeup and wardrobe room; bring your own rails. The bathroom has a rainforest shower and a two-person sauna, which can be filmed from inside if space allows. OUTSIDE A weathered timber deck with a four-person hot tub (can be used on camera) and rattan outdoor seating, set against oak-clad walls and the glass gable. The grounds include a sculpted yew topiary garden, striped lawns, an orchard with a gravel drive, a dry pond with a wooden boat, and post-and-rail paddocks with open views across the Levels. Drones are welcome (operator handles CAA compliance). Neighbouring land is visible in some views but can't be used; off-limits areas are pointed out on arrival. PRACTICAL - Up to 10 crew and 6 vehicles. Vans and small trucks can get in; not suitable for low-clearance vehicles (country lanes and a farm track). - Arrival from 9am, departure by 7pm. Recording 10am to 6pm out of respect for neighbours; other times by agreement. - Indoor sockets plus an outdoor power point. Domestic supply only: high-powered lighting needs a production generator. - WiFi available; mobile signal varies by network. - One toilet. Kitchen can be used and caterers are welcome. - A small step at the entrance (not step-free). - Quiet rural setting with occasional aircraft and cattle in nearby fields. Two resident cats; no dogs on site. - Host on site for every shoot. Free recce by appointment; minimum one week's notice. - No smoking or vaping indoors. Haze, candles and naked flames in moderation by prior agreement. No adult content. - Crew can stay overnight (sleeps 4) by arrangement. About 15 minutes from Bridgwater station and 20 minutes from M5 junctions 23 and 24. Taunton and Castle Cary stations (direct to London) are 25 to 35 minutes away.
