An enchanting Grade II listed venue in Suffolk's rich countryside, which has welcomed King Edward VII as a guest offering privacy and exclusivity. Its beautiful entrance, flanked by mirrored gate houses with striking wrought-iron gates gives an idea of what is about to come: a grand mansion, sitting proudly at the end of a sweeping tree-lined driveway. The estate includes a pair of grade II listed mirrored gate lodges in the same style as the main Hall, with 1/4 mile idyllic gravelled driveway lined by lime trees. At the top, the Hall reveals itself and terminates at the front entrance to the Hall through stone pillars. The Hall has extensive beautiful oak panelling throughout the Great Hall, Drawing Room, Entrance Hall and Grand Staircase. The Morning Room by contrast is lightly decorated with a wonderful detailed plasterwork on the ceiling. The Old Library is a very comfortable and welcoming room with double fireplaces and antique furniture. Bedrooms are available on the first and second floors for guests staying or for filming. These vary from luxury panelled en suite bedrooms to simpler bedrooms, formally the servants quarters. The gardens and grounds are luscious and glorious and come to almost 20 acres. The completely unique Sunken Garden is like a secret garden and one of the main show stoppers at the venue. There are large lawned areas, woodland, glades, children's play area, orchard and meadow. The estate also offers a currently derelict former Walled Kitchen Garden which is currently overgrown with an assortment of original brick sheds and some more modern buildings which were mostly used for kennels/cattery and veterinary buildings. Adjacent is another cottage, in keeping with the other listed buildings, which is available for hire too.
