About the Space
Opened in September 2019 on Governors Island in NY Harbor, LMCC’s Arts Center at Governors Island is one of the most exclusive and unique locations in NYC. With breathtaking views of the Lower Manhattan skyline, the Arts Center is housed in a beautiful 19th-century former munitions warehouse and features 40,000 sft of space, including over 11,000 sft of gallery space as well as artist studio space and dance studios. The building retains its historic splendor and industrial charm after extensive renovations. From November through May, when the island is closed to the public, the galleries are available for corporate events or retreats and film- and photo shoots.
