About the Space
Built in 1902 in East Vancouver, this beautifully preserved heritage space offers a rare blend of old world character and modern functionality. Once a railroad worker rooming house and furniture store and later home to over 60 years of custom metalwork the Ellis Building has been thoughtfully transformed into a vibrant, multi use creative hub while retaining all of its original charm. The main event space features a stunning saloon-style interior with warm, all-wood finishes, a classic Western inspired bar, and an intimate yet elevated atmosphere. Several cozy mezzanine seating areas overlook the central dance floor/event area, creating natural gathering pockets that feel both social and special. The vibe is timeless, classy, and full of character, perfect for events that want personality, not just square footage. Located at street level and wheelchair accessible, the space is just steps from Main Street Science World SkyTrain Station, making it easy for guests to arrive from anywhere in the city. The venue includes two washrooms and is designed to comfortably host a wide range of experiences. It includes: • Two microphones • Retro arcade setup (PlayStation 1 & Nintendo) • VHS library with 4 retro CRT TVs (perfect for classic movie nights) • A playful, intimate atmosphere perfect for after-partie, wrap parties and wedding parties Tech, Lighting & Production Add-Ons: • 4K BenQ projector available for self-use (included in rental) • Full AV support available for hire, including projector screens and a 9K projector • Sound, audio-visual, and event techs available for hire • Party lighting available for rental Bar & Liquor Services • For events over 40 people, liquor service and staff are included in the rental fee • We are the exclusive bar providers for all larger events • For groups under 40 guests, BYOB is permitted with either: – $200 liquor takedown fee or – $200 to hire one of our professional bartenders Optional Event Support: We offer additional services to make your event seamless, including: • Event coordination & logistics • Event styling & décor support • Custom cocktail menus designed specifically for your event (available as an add-on) Transportation & Parking Load-in access available through both the front No designated parking lot, with ample nearby street parking Bus stop located directly in front of the building with access to multiple busy transit routes Easily accessible for guests, crews, and equipment transport Catering & Food • Outside food and catering are welcome • Beverage sales are not permitted (please see liquor service details above for bar options) Load-In & Load-Out All load ins and load outs must be coordinated with the venue/studio manager. Great space and great staff! Hosted a halloween party and this venue was the perfect fit. Vibey lighting, karaoke, games, super cool decor, yummy cocktails, totally worth it! The host was so kind and helped us set up everything before people got there, and the bar tender was great! Definitely recommend this place!

This was my second time renting this space, and it’s always a great experience. The staff is responsive, the space is clean with great lighting, and they have pretty much everything you need. I’d definitely rent it again.

It was a pleasure booking and hosting our fundraiser at this venue. The host was responsive and communicative, which really helped make everything run more smoothly. Given the complexity of our event, which included an art gallery and fashion show, we had many questions and requests— all of which were met with patience and thoughtful consideration, both in the weeks leading up to the event and on the day itself. Even during the busyness of the night of our event, throughout the night our requests for lighting adjustments and assistance with technology were addressed immediately. The hosts and staff, including the bartenders, truly went above and beyond to support us, and we’re incredibly grateful for their help and positive energy.

Used this space for my birthday party and it was perfect! A beautiful intimate space with great bartending service for the evening. Was great to have all of my close friends together in one space for the evening. Would highly recommend this for your next event! In fact I think there are some people who attended who are already interested in booking it for their event!
