About the Space

Our stunning Georgian Manor House & Enchanted Riverside Function Room provides the perfect setting overlooking the flowing water. Windows surround the room on both sides giving two scenes to view. The other view overlooks Stodmarsh nature reserve. We are set alongside a beautiful river, flowing with draping willow trees as the perfect background to capture those special moments. Our incredible venue opened in 1831 as a lavender farm which produced oils for goods such as perfumes, who Dame Alice Ellen Terry; a leading actress in the 19th & 20th Century approved very highly of! Our Function Hall with a terrace & gardens overlooking the river, was built by Edward Epps in 1830 which was originally a renowned coaching-house, perfect for your countryside setting! Situated within over 240 acres of breathtaking countryside, where birdsong can be heard for miles. Romantic & tranquil moments can be captured here to soak in the astonishing atmosphere. We also have 6 bespoke, exquisite & exclusive hotel rooms and a separate spa treatment room/ event preparation area. Outside we have 2 acres of land which includes our terrace zone, bbq area, patio zone with garden furniture, professional wooden stage hut with a blanket of picnic benches surrounding the stage for performances and a garden bar. We also have multiple external marquees on the premises. Our premises boasts a large car park which is great for a generous amount of space that may be required! Inside, our restaurant has multiple zones for different comfort levels and styles of interior design. Our Riverside Zone has a large observatory which overlooks the terrace, willow trees and flowing river. This area also have a large open fire with chesterfield sofas. Our bar on the other side has a glass surrounding and bar area with a cosy low style chair and sofa seating accompanied by a giant fish tank. The front of the building has multiple entrances. The Function room has it's own private entrance up a flight of slate stairs. Our main entrance has an open porch with pillars and a few curved steps. The final entrance is through our large garden gates into the external zone which eventually leads into our restaurant via the terrace entrance.
