About the Space

This property is a mid-century 70's time-capsule perfect for film, production and print. A completely preserved house 75 miles due north of Manhattan (right on the New York border); it's the ideal creative space for any retro-project! It was built and furnished in 1972 and for the most part, has remained unchanged since then. It’s more than 1600 square feet of space with mostly original decor intact; flooring, carpeting, wallpaper, etc. It features a fantastic slate floored playroom complete with wood paneling, stocked wet-bar and stone fireplace; 2 vintage tiled bathrooms (one pink, one blue), 2 bedrooms (with original furniture and even some 70's clothes), large oak floored living room (with fireplace, sliding glass doors, couch, chairs, lamps & tables), oak floored dining room (with more sliding glass doors) and kitchen (with original working refrigerator, oven, light fixtures, counters, pots, pans, plates). There’s also a secure 20’ x 24’ empty two-car garage perfect for staging / storage. This home boasts a large wrap-around deck and flagstone patio as well! Brick and stone exterior situated on wooded 3 acres. Private access to Candlewood Lake. A hidden gem oozing with style!

    I can't speak highly enough about this location. It was the perfect space for our retro photoshoot. It truly is a "70's Time Capsule." As soon as you step through the front door, you feel like you're transported back in time. It made everything else so easy. Greg was the perfect host. He was super easy to communicate with and stuck around to lend us a helping hand on our shoot day. He made was feel so welcome and he event went the extra mile and helped us out with a prop we needed but didn't have on the day. If you're looking for that vintage 1970s look, this is the perfect space for you. Check it out!

    This beautiful home is Amazing and transports you back into the 60's-70's time capsul. Everything aesthetically in the house is original, in tact, unique, stylish, a part of history and just mind blowing. Greg & his wife Jen are the best and very hospitable. I will definitely be back with my team and recommend this gem to be booked by anyone in need to create this era.

    Incredible space! My crew and I absolutely loved shooting here. Beautiful space, every single room is amazing as well as the outdoors around the property. Greg was great to deal with, super helpful and easy going. I'll definitely be back here to shoot again.

    Our team had a fantastic time at our short film shoot at Greg's 70's Time Capsule. From the pre-booking (the owner Greg granted a guided in-person tour, responded within minutes by text to all our questions ~by the way, the location is even more impressive in-person than online~) to the shoot (Greg was hospitable ~he put a pot of coffee on for us~, accessible, helpful, accommodating) we knew we were in good hands. In an industry where property owners and reps can be nightmarish, getting to work with Greg and film in his meticulously preserved property ~everywhere you turn on both floors of this authentic gem is a reminder-of-the-times~ proved one of the best choices we made on this shoot. Highly recommend.
