Available from 6pm-Midnight. 3 hours minimum. *film shoots or meet-ups only. no longer available for parties.* A hidden gem in the heart of East Van, The Laughing Bean is now available for film shoots and meet-ups. Vintage bicycles adorn the back walls, and plants add dashes of greenery throughout. The warm lighting is dimmable to match any mood, and the white walls with rich chocolate accents provide the perfect neutral back drop for bringing your shoot or meeting to life. Gain exclusive access to this space for any part of the evening between 6pm-Midnight, 7 days a week, at the reasonable rate of $150/hour. ------------ About “The Bean” : What started over 18 years ago as a love for coffee and people has become The Bean, as our regulars call it. A family run business from day one, we are a cozy, welcoming home away from home for the community of East Vancouver and travelers alike. Enjoy our hand crafted coffee and fresh baked pastries while catching up with friends, or escaping into your book. We pride ourselves on damn good beverages and strive for an authentic, fun vibe. So no matter who you are, you can be sure you will find a smile, a sassy remark, and delicious treat with your name on it at The Laughing Bean. We have put a lot of intention into our space over the last few years, completing various renovations and updates, making it an ideal space for film shoots or meet-ups. ------------ > The space - 1200 square feet of wheelchair accessible indoor space, 30 person capacity (seating for 25), 1 unisex washroom, spacious patio with mural, awning and patio furniture. > 1-2 staff - All rentals include myself and/or another person on site to act as liaisons for you throughout the event. Depending on the nature of your event, we can either stay out of the way and leave you to it, or we can offer our services as professional baristas - making espresso based beverages or any other food or drinks from our usual menu (paid separately). Please feel free to message us to discuss your unique needs and vision. > Clean up - Please ensure all tables and chairs are placed back in position, garbage and recycling is gathered, and the general space is cleaned up to the best of your ability. We will take care of the rest. The space is a fully operational cafe during the day from 6am-5pm so it will be necessary to work around our products in some ways. ------------ *IMPORTANT* -We charge for set up / take down time - from the time you step in the door, until the time the last person has left. -Also available for day time film rentals from 6am-6pm for a price of $3000 per day (because we would need to shut down the cafe)

Both Paulina and Rebecca were so amazing to work with through booking and the entire event. The space is so cool and versatile with the ability to be inside or out on the patio and it was perfect for our birthday party. Rebecca was so helpful and accommodating and are sure everything went off without a hitch. The decor on the walls is awesome and the venue has a ton of character so I didn’t feel like I needed to decorate at all. Rebecca was also super kind to provide things I had forgotten like a lighter and knife for the candles and cake. Thank you both so much!

Rebecca was super responsive and helpful! Kristi (staff on site) was super friendly and accommodating. Parking was reserved for us and she showed us where we could store our drinks and food and helped us clean up at the end of the night! Would book again! Perfect for intimate parties!
