We are a large Victorian structure surrounded by a grassy garden. The house was built in 1891 by a banker called ROGGENKAMP and has all its original ornate moldings, copper downspouts and a beautiful rounded porch in front. The roofline sports a few widow-walks and all the typical Victorian era fancies and gingerbread.
All rooms on the bottom floor have very high ceilings (around 14 ft) and original woodworking but are painted bright . The woodworking is very fancy and detailed. The kitchen has a spectacular tin coffered ceiling. The kitchen is a chefs kitchen with a large VIKING stove and subzero refrigerator with lots of space to Prep. The rooms are open and airy (unlike most Victorians) with a picture window bench. There are two working gas fireplaces one small in the parlour and one large in the dining room. Use of all areas are available including the kitchen for preparation of food.
The second floor is all attic ceilings. Upstairs sports three very interesting bedrooms with an added study with bookshelves. One room has silk padded Chinese printed walls and ceilings. One bedroom is all curves and flowers with large double hung windows. Two of the rooms hold Victorian stained glass. Also the upstairs has a small modern bathroom with a shower all in agate stone.
The staircase has a painted mural of Redlands and upstairs continues that mural into the skylight etc.
