Where was Mare of Eastown filmed?

From episode 1.2, we observe a heated exchange as Mare prepares to leave her abode, only to get confronted by Tony Del Rasso (Eric T. Miller), Brianna's (Mackenzie Lansing) father. He accuses Mare of destroying his daughter’s life, and Helen (Jean Smart), Mare’s mother, intervenes in the altercation.

The show's exterior scenes were filmed around Wallingford, including Mare's house and her ex-husband's home. The two residences are close to each other, with Frank Sheehan's (David Denman) home located behind Mare's abode. Visitors should keep in mind that these homes are privately owned.

The Nether Providence Township Police Department has implored fans to respect the homeowners' privacy and not trespass. Despite this, you can still admire the attractive three-story white home from a safe distance. Wallingford is located 9 miles outside Philadelphia and can be easily accessed via I-95 S.

To reach Nether Providence Township, take I-676/US-30 East from South Penn Square and North Broad Street. Then, merge onto Interstate 95 South to West MacDade Boulevard in Woodlyn, where you should exit at number 7. Afterward, proceed along West MacDade Boulevard before turning onto Bullens Lane and South Providence Road until you reach Blue Hill Road in your destination of Nether Providence Township.

On foot, visitors can explore picturesque scenery like Ridley Creek State Park and the colonial village of Chadds Ford.

The grounds of St. Michael's Evangelical Lutheran Church, the historic Church of Mount Airy, Philadelphia, served as a setting for some of the Mare of Easttown scenes. This iconic building has stood tall since at least 1728 and proudly celebrates its German ancestry with a stately clock tower, magnificent stained glass windows, and wooden pews.

Look around to truly appreciate this space steeped in history, with traditional artwork gracing the walls while worn floorboards whisper tales from long ago. In 2021, this historic Philadelphia landmark was the backdrop for Mare and Colin's visit to Deacon Mark Button (James McArdle). As viewers watch Mare and Colin walk up to the chapel entrance and into a stately hallway adorned with religious art, it is easy to imagine their conversations within its walls.

St. Michael's Evangelical Lutheran Church is situated in the Mount Airy neighborhood northwest of Philadelphia’s city center. To get there from downtown Philadelphia, take either I-76 or US 1 Northbound until you reach West Allens Lane at Cresheim Valley Drive (the exact address of the church is 6671 Chew Avenue).

Park along nearby streets or on a side street next to one of the church's many trees; be sure not to block any driveways or parking spaces! Once parked, look for the giant pink stone facade with ornate white trim that serves as a reminder of this area’s storied past.

In the third episode, we observe a serene evening out as Richard (Guy Pearce) takes Mare out for dinner. She opens up about her late father and losing her son during the meal. They have an intimate conversation in which he disclosed his struggle with having his child taken away by his ex-wife, a rare moment where they both feel comfortable enough to be vulnerable with each other.

The scene between Mare and Richard was shot at the beautiful Bube's Brewery. It is a historic brewery located in Mount Joy, Pennsylvania. The building was erected in 1859 and has since become an iconic landmark.

Adjacent to the brewery is the Central Hotel, built in 1880 with a Late Victorian style. Visitors can get to this location either by car or public transport. If traveling by car, the brewery is located off PA-283 W from Lancaster city center.

To get there by public transport, take 601 Harrisburg from Lancaster city center to Mount Joy station and then walk for about 3 minutes until reaching Bube's Brewery. Once you get to the historic brewery, you will be surrounded by breathtaking scenery - a perfect setting for such an intimate moment between Mare and Richard on their night out.

The scene where Mare visits the river where John (Joe Tippett) and Billy Ross (Robbie Tann) are fishing, was filmed at Wissahickon Creek. This picturesque waterway meanders through rolling hills, lush greenery, and trees in Montgomery and Philadelphia counties. The scenic spot is located just northwest of Philadelphia’s Fairmount Park and offers plenty of outdoor activities for visitors.

Visitors can hike, bike, fish, bird watch, or take in the natural beauty of this area. For the climactic scene of the show’s last episode, the cast and crew descended upon Magargee Dam's majestic waterfalls situated upriver from Valley Green Inn in Philadelphia.

In addition, they were also sighted at Wissahickon Valley Park, an area cherished by many Philadelphians as one of its most beautiful public parks. To reach Wissahickon Creek from downtown Philadelphia, take I-76 west towards Manayunk until you get to Exit 342B (Germantown Pike).

Follow Germantown Pike west until you reach Stenton Avenue/Forbidden Drive. You'll then turn left onto Forbidden Drive, eventually leading you to the entrance of Wissahickon Valley Park. Once inside the park, there are several different parking areas along Forbidden Drive, each offering access to other sections of the creek and trails.

Public transportation or ride-share services can also get you to Wissahickon Creek since it is accessible by many SEPTA buses and regional rail lines.

With her suspicions heightened, Mare believed they had finally located the crime scene and needed to confirm it as soon as possible. To do so, she called on Colin’s help to have a team of tracking dogs come by and investigate the area.

Brandywine Park is presented as vast and beautiful, with a large pond surrounded by lush greenery. The sun casts its light on the tranquil waters, emphasizing the serenity of this place. This scene was filmed at Pastorius Park in the Chestnut Hill neighborhood in Philadelphia.

It is a 16-acre recreational area that has been around since 1915 and was named after Francis Pastorius, one of the earliest German immigrants to come to this region. In 1935, the area underwent landscaping work from Frederick W. G. Peck, resulting in its current picturesque aesthetics.

To get to Pastorius Park from anywhere in Philadelphia, you can take public transport or drive there (about 15 minutes from Center City). If taking public transportation, you can hop on SEPTA’s Regional Rail line, Chestnut Hill West Line, and get off at Queen Lane station just across from Pastorius Park. From there, it’s only a short walk up Germantown Avenue until you reach the park entrance!
