Where was Norbit filmed?

Norbit was abandoned as an infant when he was thrown from a moving car in front of the Chinese Golden Wonton Restaurant and Orphanage located in Boiling Springs, Tennessee. The compassionate Mr. Wong (also portrayed by Murphy) took the baby under his care in his orphanage. During his childhood, Norbit encountered another orphan, Kate. They formed a strong bond and became inseparable until Kate's adoption tore them apart.

The location used for filming this scene was The Great Wall on Sherman Way in Reseda, California. This restaurant was chosen for its spacious dining area and ornate fixtures that matched perfectly with what was needed for the film's interior of the Chinese restaurant and orphanage.
