  We hosted our holiday team dinner + karaoke for 11 people at WB Distilling & couldn't have asked for a better experience. The owner was incredibly kind, communicative, and accommodating from start to finish, which made planning feel effortless. The space itself has immaculate vibes. Warm, intimate, and perfect for gathering. The bartender was wonderful and so much fun, bringing great energy to the night and making everyone feel welcome. If you're looking for a unique, well-run venue in West Oakland with great people and an unforgettable atmosphere, WB Distilling is it. We're so grateful for the experience and would absolutely book again.

  WONDERFUL!! The perfect venue with incredible support and service provided by an awesome owner/operator (Earl)!! My mom had recently passed away and I was looking for an intimate space that could accommodate 40 people comfortably to celebrate her life, while affording the flexibility of layout and providing the accessibility needed for the older family members. After trying to coordinate with several restaurants and other event spaces that were either unresponsive or unwilling to work with us, I was very fortunate to find Earl and Wright & Brown Distillery. First of all, Earl was amazing to work with; responsive and collaborative, ensuring a successful event that met all expectations. Being a working distillery, it might not sound like a place to host this type of event, but that is where Earl and his team truly made the difference. We brought in our own food and extra tables. Earl provided all of the seating, even buying more chairs to make sure there was enough. We were able to drop off much of our supplies the day before and make set up the day of much quicker, so we could enjoy more of our time with each other. We were able to set up a hot food station by the bar with cold items in the back on the movable tasting bars, which worked perfectly. This allowed for a better flow for attendees to get food and not have to wait in a long line, while moving seamlessly from area to area with seating throughout. We comfortably fit five 6-foot folding tables to seat 30. W&B has a few appropriate cask tables with 4 stools for small groups, 7 or 8 seats at the convenient bar and a couple of comfy leather armchairs, which added to the laid-back and cool vibe of the entire space. Once we had set up the tables, W&B provided still water in clear glass bottles on each table and made sure there was always water, so no one had to get up and ask or look for it. The glassware was provided. They also placed bottles of sparkling water we had purchased on each table and had a cooler of flavored options by the bar. It made all the difference to have the staff help us make sure they were readily available and avoid it feeling like a picnic. They added just enough formality without making it noticeable or stuffy, which was perfect to facilitate uninhibited movement and meaningful conversations. The open front allowed for fresh air and easy access to move in and out of the space as the event dynamic changed throughout the time. It also made for convenient drop-off and pick-up of supplies and those who have difficulty walking. There is a large TV mounted over the bar, which Earl was kind enough to allow us to use to show a video of my mom, which ran continuously in the background so everyone could enjoy and reflect at any time during the event. The small bar was perfect for those who wanted to partake in the incredible whiskey selection (which of course, we did!) or the curated cocktails. It seemed like there was a constant crowd gathered there having a good time, but no one was ever waiting for a drink, as the bartender was very engaged and attentive. Being in the warehouse area of West Oakland, parking was easy on the weekend, and we had no distractions from surrounding businesses or pass-through traffic. We had family fly in from all over the country, and many from all across the Bay Area. They ranged from 15 to 85, and all were very impressed and happy with the day. Many asked me how we found such a great spot, which ultimately was the perfect venue to celebrate my mom, who had touched so many. I would highly recommend Wright & Brown Distillery for ANY event for up to 40 to 45 people. With Earl and his staff, you can create a custom experience and priceless memories that all will appreciate and enjoy! I can't thank Earl enough for working with us and helping us make a wonderful memory for our family when we needed it most. Christopher and Family

  We had an incredible experience at WB Distilling for our brand photoshoot. The space was perfect for the cigar aesthetic we were going for — warm, rustic, and full of character. Earl was amazing to work with from start to finish. His communication was great and he went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. The place was really nice. The barrels were a standout and ended up being the star in a lot of our shots. The bar was also a really nice touch. It was clean and perfectly set up. Highly recommend this space and working with Earl. We’ll definitely be back!
