Uno dei rarissimi giardini privati sul retro a Malibou Lake. Immersa nelle montagne di Santa Monica, questa casa sul lago (o lakehouse, se preferisci!) è così isolata che anche il tuo tecnico del suono apprezzerà la tranquillità. È abbastanza vicina alla città per la comodità del cast e della troupe. Abbiamo diverse barche con cui lavorare: un Lyman Runabout del 1955 (la barca in legno), una bellissima barca a vela di 18', un gommone rosso e diverse kayak e tavole da paddle! Il cortile deve essere visto per essere creduto. Recintato su due lati e delimitato dal lago sul terzo, offre totale privacy. Xeriscapato con cespugli rigogliosi e fioriti stagionalmente, lo spazio è incorniciato da alberi imponenti che coprono il sentiero in pietra che conduce a un molo privato in legno (completo di una fontana incantevole lungo il percorso). Il molo stesso è abbastanza spazioso per allestimenti di produzione e presenta una combinazione unica di legno, cemento e roccia lungo il perimetro. In piena estate, gode di luce solare diretta per ore, mentre il resto della giornata gode di una luce soffusa e diffusa mentre il sole passa dietro gli alberi. Questa è una location privata e di alto livello sul lago—ideale per romanticismo, commedia o Americana generale, specialmente storie ambientate in una casa sul lago o sul lungolago. La proprietà funge anche da baita di montagna (una troupe l'ha persino usata come sostituto per il Canada, grazie al fogliame) o da rifugio moderno boho-chic. From the very moment we arrived, they went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and cared for. They greeted us with open arms, helping us coordinate parking with ease, giving us a tour of the breathtaking space, and introducing us to their adorable cats. Matt and Crissy were right there with us at every step of the process, ensuring everything was running smoothly, whether it was providing information, assisting with setups, or offering their hospitality in the most thoughtful ways. They even surprised us with delicious fresh-baked cookies and coffee, which was such a delightful and unexpected treat. Seriously—homemade cookies! This type of kindness is hard to come by, and we are eternally grateful to them for providing such a wonderful experience for every member of our team. We were truly blown away. As for the space itself, it truly is a hidden gem. The garden is a photographer's dream, receiving beautiful lighting throughout the day, from sunrise to sunset. The way the greenery casts dappled light at all times creates a magical atmosphere, especially during the afternoon when most places would be battling harsh overhead sun. Here, everything feels peaceful and balanced, making it easy to get perfect shots in any light. The dock was another favorite spot—so peaceful and calming, providing a tranquil escape just steps from the garden. We still can’t believe that this lakeside paradise is just an hour from the city! This place photographs like a dream—every angle, every corner is picturesque and perfect for capturing content. Our entire team left feeling inspired, refreshed, and so grateful for the time we spent there. If you’re looking for a space that offers not only unbeatable beauty but also hosts who go above and beyond to make your experience special, this is it. Matt and Crissy made sure every single detail was perfect, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. 1000/10—we couldn’t recommend this place enough! Thank you, Matt and Crissy, for making our day unforgettable!

Wonderful location to use for production! Matt was incredibly accommodating and fully understanding about whatever production needs might be. He goes above and beyond to make sure the shoot is as great as it can be! On the day we were shooting we had issues with noise due to construction happening around the lake, and Matt was able to text the neighbors and coordinate a period of silence for us to get the audio we needed. He was also generous enough to tow/pull one of our actors in the wooden boat with his kayak for certain shots!! Highly recommend renting this location!
