What people are saying about Memorial on Giggster

The space was perfect for our event. Everything looked just like the photos. It was easy to get to and very centrally located for our guests. The upholstered dining chairs around the table were filthy, and the floor needed to be swept and rug vacuumed - lots of dirt and dust. The space was fairly hot, it was an unusually hot day outside in SF, but we could not adjust the thermostat, unfortunately. The only downside was - to get to the space - you had to walk through several locked doors, for which you needed a code to pass through, and through many hallways. It was very obscure to arrive - but great once we arrived - and lots of natural light!

The space is clean, quiet, and private. I used it for acting practice and had no problem singing. They have a kitchen available and different furniture you can ask for. The host is sweet and amazing. She set up a portable heater and put up a ‘do not disturb’ sign on the door so my virtual audition could go smoothly. She also walked me to a BART station. I almost feel like I have a new friend in SF now!

San Francisco is also home to the largest Chinatown in the United States, as well as some beautiful green spaces. Pros and Cons of Memorial Spaces in San Francisco

All cities have good and bad; when choosing a site for a memorial service, it’s always a good idea to consider these factors.

Advantages

  • Beautiful historical landmarks and scenery
San Francisco is a place that has been memorialized in a number of television shows and films. The rolling hills and the magnificent homes in historic neighborhoods make San Francisco absolutely beautiful. The city is a perfect place to memorialize a dear loved one; the scenery of the city itself will add to the memorial event.

  • The public transportation system
Many largely populated cities are home to congested traffic, and San Francisco is no exception. However, the local infrastructure has implemented a successful and efficient public transportation system that other cities envy. Both locals and visitors to the city utilize all types of public transportation, including the iconic trolley and cable cars that still traverse the city.

  • Lots to do
You’ll never be bored in San Francisco, and when visitors are in town for a memorial event, keeping guests busy can alleviate the somber tone of the event. There are a number of restaurants from five-star Michelin restaurants to “cheap eats.” There are also ample retail opportunities as well as opportunities for outdoor recreation.

Disadvantages

  • Traffic
When visiting San Francisco, it’s always a great idea to plan for congested traffic because you will deal with it in some way or another. Although the city has a great public transportation program, there are many locals and visitors who use a car to get around town. Rush hour in the morning and evening can be difficult to navigate, at best.

  • The weather
Although San Francisco is located in Southern California, the weather of the city is more reminiscent of Portland, Oregon or Seattle. The fog brings in a damp chill to the air that one won’t experience in Los Angeles or Pasadena. However, the weather rarely sees temps below 50 degrees or above 90 degrees. It’s always a good idea to have a rain jacket when visiting San Francisco.

  • Crime
San Francisco has recently been plagued by a rash of “smash-and-grab” robberies of upscale retail stores. The good news is that most visitors to the city won’t be affected by this alarming trend. As you would anywhere else, always look out for your surroundings and keep valuables in a safe location.

Famous Locations in San Francisco

  • The Golden Gate Park
Not to be confused with the Golden Gate Bridge, the Golden Gate Park is a beautiful green space where one can partake in fun, relaxing outdoor activities.

  • Alcatraz
Today, Alcatraz is a tourist attraction, but it was once one of the most secure prisons in the United States. The building has been featured in many ghost tours as well as a recurrent movie set.

  • Fisherman’s Wharf
If you want to get a great seafood meal or see some seals that have made the Wharf their home, then head over to Fisherman’s Wharf. Those who enjoy kayaking and similar water activities will enjoy the Wharf as well.
