Edmonton Pet Photography

As its name suggests, Edmonton Pet Photography is dedicated to capturing portraits of your furry and feathered friends. Owner Eric was born and raised in Edmonton but spent time living and working in Las Vegas - where he purchased his first DSLR camera before relocating to Vancouver in 2009. Here he worked as a commercial photographer before moving back home to Edmonton “with a house full of pets” and turned his attention to pet photography.

Eric describes himself as having the “best job in the world” and we absolutely love his pet portraits taken against Alberta’s big prairie skies.

Antique Photo Parlour

Established in 1976, the Antique Photo Parlour captures original portraits with a 19th-century twist. The studio is based at West Edmonton Mall and offers the opportunity for you and your pets to dress up as 1800s characters to create historical portraits.

All of the clothing is expertly reproduced, whether you want to be a cowboy with a replica gun or a gambler with his showgirls. Most of the costumes and props are handmade and you can find a range of antique-styled frames to complete your artwork.

Critter Collections

Critter Collections is owned and operated by an award-winning photographer who has been serving the Greater Edmonton Area for the last 23 years. Since 2008, Jill has been specializing in pet portraiture and offers sessions both in her studio and on location at your favorite park.

To ensure everyone involved remains relaxed and calm, Jill limits the number of people present to just herself and the owners - and treats every furry friend with the utmost respect. She's been a member of the Professional Photographers of Canada since 1998 and regularly hosts events to raise money for local rescue agencies.

Next to Wild Photography

Owned by Lara Matiisen, Next to Wild is an on-location pet photography service that celebrates “your furred, feathered, and scaly family members.” While she is based in Edmonton, Lara is happy to travel to Grande Prairie and Calgary to document the connection that pets have with their humans.

Her photography is for the kind of people who would miss a day of work to celebrate their dog’s birthday, or are often late to meetings because their cat was so content sleeping in their lap. She loves telling their stories through true-to-life photography in an elegant and classic style.

Mark C Hughes Photography

Former forensic engineer Mark Hughes is now an award-winning photographer who specializes in portraits of pets and people. He has photoed hundreds of dogs and cats as a volunteer photographer for the Greater Edmonton Animal Rescue Society and the Edmonton Humane Society, with his images used for adoption profiles and marketing material.

Mark has also played a central role in the Furever Families Project, which is collecting images and stories of adopted animals and their forever families.

Sal and Elaine Photography

Sal and Elaine are a husband-and-wife photography team who say they are “crazy about dogs.” That being said, they are happy to photograph almost any type of pet, with their images capturing the unique personalities of their subjects. Over the years, they have shot everything from family and engagement portraits to business headshots, food and product images.

In addition to being talented pet photographers, Sal and Elaine regularly volunteer their time with local animal shelters by taking photos of their rescues and supporting their ongoing fundraising activities.
