New Year’s Eve Event Styling Ideas
We love hosting New Years’ Eve parties! Guests are in high spirits, champagne flows like water and the sense of celebration is always in the air. Styling NYE events can be a lot of fun too – this week we have put together a few styling ideas for your big NYE party. Take a look and be inspired!
Everything that sparkles!
Basically, anything that sparkles is a great idea for New Year’s Eve events. When the lights go down, the decorations will still shine. Check out some great inspiration below to add sparkle, glitter and sequins to your stylish New Year’s Eve party.

Light it up!
New Year’s Eve parties can start early in the day, but inevitably they will last at least to midnight, when the kissing, hugging and cheering commences. So plan ahead for the evening and decorate your event space with some gorgeous lighting effects. Marquee letters, festoons, coloured lanterns and sophisticated chandeliers are all great ideas for adding atmospheric lighting – indoors and out!
Balloons!
Forget tacky balloon displays, we’re talking about modern, funky balloons that add colour to your festivities! Gigantic balloons are in – as are balloons filled with glitter, painted with gold or modern pastels and tied up with gorgeous ribbon (real ribbon, not that curly type). Here is some bright colourful inspo to get your ideas floating…
Bronze, copper and gold styling!
We have mentioned this before – 2014 is all about adding bronze, copper and gold to your events! What better way to celebrate this style than add it to your New Year’s Eve party styling – who knows if it will stay around in 2015 (although we suspect it will!). Here are some great examples of how you can use bronze, copper and gold to create a sophisticated look for your NYE party!
Mediterranean blues!
Here in Australia, we celebrate NYE basking in the sunshine – this is why we traditionally start the party early! To enjoy the most of this gorgeous weather, why not style your party with some chilled Mediterranean blues, greens and a touch of lemon. Your guests will instantly feel relaxed and be ready for a long evening of food, wine and musing over the year that was.
Now we’d love to hear from you! What is your best NYE event styling tip?
