Citron and Pink Wedding
We think many of the inspirational wedding photo shoots we highlight are adorable and this is especially one of them. Hand painted natural stones and table covers that are blankets are just two items we’ll point out to start. Take a look!
Colour Palettes for a Citron and Pink Wedding
The colours citron (a dark lemon yellow with shades of green) and blush pink are unusual yet striking combinations. Highly unconventional, this colour palette, when paired with white, gold, and earthy tones like brown and sand, give the entire wedding an extremely haute couture and glamorous vibe.
The colours are individually quite strong. However, with the bold use of the citron, there is plenty of room for creative aspects in the table setting style, invitations, bridesmaid dresses, and groomsmen suits. With all these gorgeous mixes coming together in harmony, the pink and citron with other shades in light or dark make for a highly memorable wedding.
Details for a Citron and Pink Wedding
It is pretty easy to overuse either of the two colours and create a mess. There is a need for restraint with such intense colours, especially when considering the overall venue and décor. While finalising the minor details of the wedding, it is essential that you select an outdoors or partially indoors venue.
This is because greenery, water features, long archways, and other natural elements will blend well with solid colours like citron and pink. The ceremony and reception décor should be minimalistic, with heavy influence on the venue's natural beauty to make it highly glamorous. A courtyard with water features or a Chinese garden with a small pond and koi fish would look lovely.
Table Setting Style for a Citron and Pink Wedding
The uniqueness of a glamorous yet creative table setting can be through an unconventional play of thin blankets as table covers, rumpled blush pink scarves as table runners, mismatched candle votives with floating candles, and beautiful elongated centrepieces with asymmetrical branches. The branches can be spray painted with gold and placed aesthetically between floral bouquets that are a mix of natural and paper flowers.
The flatware can be pearl white with golden cutlery to match the branches. Pale yellow serviettes for guests and a beautiful necklace of rose quartz for the table numbers will match the overall blush pink and citron colour palette.
Budget for a Citron and Pink Wedding
When considering the wedding budgets, couples need to assess how glamorous they want the wedding. Setting a budget usually means cost-saving for some couples, while for others, it could mean saving for something special on their big day. If the guest list is small and the budget extensive, it could also mean that the wedding will be pretty lavish but highly intimate.
A citron and pink wedding need not burn a hole through your pocket. In fact, these gorgeous colours will help reduce the overhead since your choices are limited in terms of décor. Many people overspend for their weddings because they have too many options. Having a few select things within a colour palette will help control the budget and ensure the wedding is stunning.
Wedding Dresses and Accessories for a Citron and Pink Wedding
Although a blush pink wedding dress looks heavenly, the bridal gown need not be the same shades as the wedding colours. The bride can opt for the classic white lace gown with satin panels or a dusky light gold shimmering shade for a glam look. Bare-shouldered matte gold dresses with a flowy train and a netted veil also look sensational.
The wedding dress should complement the overall look and feel of the day yet look impressive on its own. Accessories for a bare shoulder gown should be a statement neckpiece inset with diamonds or rhinestones, teardrop earrings, and a thick bracelet. The shoes can be embellished flats or block heels, depending on comfort.
Bouquets and Boutonnieres for a Citron and Pink Wedding
A citron and pink wedding calls for an unconventional wedding bouquet. When considering the beauty of the location, colours, and overall creativity, the bridal bouquet should reflect the uniqueness of the overall theme. Like the centrepiece, the bridal bouquet should be made of a single, sturdy gold-coloured asymmetric branch with paper and natural blooms of blush, white, green, and citron. If you want a slightly more conventional wedding bouquet, fresh roses in pale pink, white, and some green tied with citron ribbons will also look dazzling.
Boutonnieres should be minimalistic with small blush pink and citron flowers made with paper. When considering boutonniere styles, it is necessary to pair them with a dark suit or a tuxedo.
Wedding Invitations for a Citron and Pink Wedding
The wedding invitations are usually the first signs of the theme. When your guests receive the invites, they should immediately understand the wedding colours and theme. For this reason, the cards should have citron and pink colour palettes with gold and white on them. The script can be an alluring cursive elegant one, but the essence of the invitation should be about the wedding theme.
While designing the wedding invitations, many couples also prefer to inform their guests what the theme is and if there are any special requests. The wedding invitations need not be paper-based and can also be digitised to ensure the colours are perfect and the invitation looks charming.
Wedding Cake Ideas for a Citron and Pink Wedding
A golden-coloured cake with intricate gold designs and patterns will make an alluring addition to the glam look and feel of the wedding. Depending on the number of tiers, you could also opt for golden icing, with exquisite pink and citron-coloured icing flowers in an upward vine pattern.
If you want something to fit perfectly with the theme, then an alternating tile-inspired cake in citron and blush pink with hand-painted flowers in gold and white will also look exquisite. The cake can also be wrapped in icing flowers or sugar flowers in crushed gold colour to add to the cake design.
Favours and Gifts for a Citron and Pink Wedding
A citron-coloured welcome bag for guests with a small bottle of rose wine, lemons, tea towels, and candles would work wonders towards maintaining the overall theme of the wedding. Adding chocolates wrapped in alternating citron and pink colours will also look beautiful in the welcome bag.
For wedding favours, a mid-sized organza drawstring bag with a vintage style wine glass in blush pink, customised playing cards with your initials and wedding date in citron, and a pair of golden candle votives should do the trick. If you add a bottle of rose wine to the wedding favour bag, your guests will love it!
Portrait Props for a Citron and Pink Wedding
There are several ways to include elegant portrait props for the wedding. Some of the unusual ones are adding succulents to the table arrangements, ceremony décor, and reception décor. The cake table can also be laden with green succulents and papier-mâché flowers in blush pink.
Other excellent portrait prop ideas could be pink or citron cushions with your names and initials on them.
You could also choose hand-painted rock seating charts in gold script with pink and citron stones placed on asymmetric branches, an outstanding cake display surrounded by lit and unlit golden candles in golden candelabras, and more. The guest book can be raised on an easel covered with exquisite floral arrangements in white, blush pink, and the occasional green.
Glamorous and Creative ‘Love is Sweet’ Shoot
Today’s glamorous ‘love is sweet’ shoot from LH Photography is packed with romance and absolutely loaded with creativity. A few unique details to be on the lookout for: painted rock seating chart, an epic cake display involving gold bottles, and a bridal bouquet made from a tree branch, paper flowers, and succulents!
From Ly Sue of LH Photography – “When thinking of an underlying theme for this shoot, we best described it as deconstructed nature mixed with touches of glam and romance! The colour palette throughout encompassed both contrast and subtlety with citron, gold, and blush tonalities, which created the perfect balance against the backdrop of the venue.
For the ceremony setting, we brought in details such as dip dyed citron baskets filled with blankets, fur, and textural fabrics to soften the space and give a sense and feel of warmth. For the escort card display our hand painted natural stones to reflect the colour story and framed it as an art piece.
We wanted the table setting to sum up all of the elements and tell the whole story. We had fun playing with unconventional uses of different things such as the use of blankets as table covers, blush scarves as table runners, and necklaces to hold the table number.
The floral arrangement incorporated both natural and paper flowers arranged in an effortless, organic way to follow the asymmetrical shape of the gold branch. The unique bridal bouquet was a reflection of the centrepiece; unconventional, beautiful, and free-form.”
