Getting to know Alex Williamson from FFA

It’s World Cup time and who better to get to know than the Event Manager for the Football Federation of Australia. This week we caught up with Alex Williamson, who shared with us her love of great food, planning events and a recent career highlight with the Socceroos…

Give us a snap shot of your career to date.

I have been at Football Federation Australia managing Corporate Events for 16 months and have enjoyed every moment of it. The events range from press conferences, match day corporate hospitality, awards nights and gala dinners. Prior to working at FFA, I worked in the Prime Minister’s Office travelling and managing events nationally and internationally.

The most memorable event you have worked on and why?

The most recent event that comes to mind is the Socceroos Farewell Dinner that FFA hosted at the Sydney Opera House a few weeks ago. We had the entire Socceroos squad, leaders from Government and business in the room to celebrate Australia and the Socceroos. The weather was perfect, the food was delightful and it was a great occasion to showcase the Socceroos and the excitement around the World Cup.
