Craig van der Lende

Grand Rapids-based food photographer Craig van der Lende shoots both still images and films for a diverse range of corporate clients, including food purveyors and restaurants. He has previously worked for Kelloggs, Sara Lee, and United Airlines, as well as Microsoft, Sony, and American Express. Craig’s food photography is divided into two separate portfolios - food in studios and food in restaurants. He executes each masterfully.

In addition to creative styling and contrasting colors, we love Craig's vibrant overhead shots and close-up macro images that capture the textures and smells of what’s on the plate.

Sara Cozolino Photography

Sara Cozolino is a highly talented photographer who captures everything from weddings to pets, architecture, and food. She says that she loves “quiet moments and big emotions” and believes that dogs can teach us a lot about enjoying the little things in life. For example, great food.

Sara’s food images often feature wooden tables that give an earthy feel to the images and are a nice change from the bright white or dark surfaces that are often used by food photographers. She's just as adept at shooting in a studio as she is on location in restaurants, with previous clients that include Elle: Decor, Marie Claire, and Jet Magazine.

Alicia Magnuson Photography

Alicia Magnuson is a Midwest wedding and lifestyle photographer who is also no stranger to food photography. She regularly partners with local bakeries to showcase their goods and believes that “in the right light, at the right time, everything is extraordinary.”

We love the rich use of lighting in Alicia’s work, with strong contrasts and shadows that add depth to her images. In addition to shooting food, she also photographs the unique creations of local craft breweries.

Stacy Feyer Salo

Specializing in editorial and graphic brand photography, Stacy Feyer Salo is a food, beverage, and still life photographer who calls Grand Rapids home. She says that it was on a trip to Italy back in 2003 that she really fell in love with telling food stories, inspired by a dish of brined veal stuffed with rosemary.

Today, she dedicates her work to telling the stories of food-focused businesses and helping to create a bond between product and patron. Stacy studied at culinary arts school and worked as a private chef in Toronto and Rapids while running her own food blog. She said that photographing food was what gave her the most creative fulfillment and she hasn’t looked back since.
