Event Styling | Winter Themed Events

Whether you’re planning an event during winter and want to enhance the season or you’re planning a summer party and want a way to cool down your guests, a winter themed event can be a great idea.

We take a look at your typical winter event styling trends, along with some new ideas that will give your event a modern touch.

So, if you’re planning a corporate function, wedding or special occasion, we’re positive you’ll be inspired by these cool ideas… (pun totally intended!)

Creating atmosphere with lights

To create a cool, icy atmosphere, use blue lighting to chill the room. Warm yellow lighting can create a sense of being indoors away from the cold outside and works nicely for smaller events. We LOVE the image below (centre), which showcases some gorgeous theming with blue lighting as a backdrop to set the scene, while the guests dine amongst warm soft candlelight – so enchanting.

Twigs & branches straight from the forest…

Nothing creates a magical winter wonderland theme better than turning the room into a mystical winter forest. Branches, twigs and blossoms create a dramatic effect and work well in rooms with moderate to high ceilings. White florals and green foliage also work well to make the room look cool and crisp.

Adding texture to give warmth & depth to your event

For intimate events in need of a little luxury we LOVE the idea of adding textured furs and fabrics to the seating areas. Ghost chairs and chandeliers are also perfect for a sleek, sophisticated and icy look.

Ice, ice baby…

Forget ice sculptures of unicorns (although very cool), we’re thinking something a little more impressive, such as an ice bar, ice cups or a fabulous welcome entrance – OMG we LOVE those pillars!

A few little details from the alpine forest…

If you’re steering away from the icy-blue look then try adding antlers, acorns, nuts and berries for earthy forest-feel events – we LOVE these little wintery details.

Love what you see, feeling inspired, but have no idea how to pull it all together? We recommend getting in touch with one of our creative event planners, who are experts at creating amazing atmospheres and custom themes.
