Easter Wedding

This inspirational photo shoot mentions every wedding celebration, from the bridal shower to the ceremony. All events suit the colours and fun of an Easter wedding theme! Spring brings wonderful things and so do weddings.

What to Look for in a Venue for an Easter Wedding

Your wedding venue should not limit how much you can design and transform the space for your dream day. It should be flexible and versatile, allowing you to embellish to your heart’s content, but with the theme in mind while injecting a bit of the bride and groom's personality.

Outdoor wedding venues are excellent options if you plan to include Easter games and interactive entertainment for the reception. You can convert a park, botanical garden, or your backyard into a reception area. Although indoor spaces also work, a wide-open area, like farms, barns, or stateside spots, is what you need for large celebrations.

Table Setting Style for an Easter Wedding

You can incorporate countless Easter ideas into your wedding table, from bunnies to yummy chocolate eggs. Religious or not, there’s no doubt you’ll have fun creating a beautiful tablescape inspired by this Christian festival. Not only should it delight the couple, but it must also make your guests feel special and welcomed.

Designing a tablescape isn’t just about organising the perfect Easter table but also creating a sense of festivity with clever tricks. Instead of opting for antique silverware, white linens, and pillar candles, bring sunshine to the table and be bold. Mix and match patterns and wedding colours across centrepieces and linens. Unleash your creative spirit, and don’t be afraid to be playful.

Wedding Dresses & Accessories for an Easter Wedding

You can rock any length, colour, and style of wedding dress for a spring wedding. For a traditional white dress, go for a sleeveless bridal gown with a lightweight fabric to show off your sun-kissed skin. It’s simple yet sexy and effortless, perfect for every minimalist bride.

Wedding accessories are the best way to add sparkle and a splash of colour to your magical day. Embrace the classic look of a bridal headband or custom hair accessories for an elegant touch and personalise your style. If you want to transform the girly girl in you into more ladylike and feminine, wear a sophisticated fascinator to elevate your outfit.

Bridesmaid Dresses for an Easter Wedding

Don’t limit yourself to satin maxi dresses or long jewel-toned velvets gowns when dressing up your bridesmaids. You’ll have tons of style options to consider, so don’t be afraid to experiment with different looks and designs. Sure, the girls will undoubtedly look gorgeous with gowns in the same style and colour. But gone are the days when identical bridesmaids matching dresses are the only way to go.

Be playful and cute with pretty pastels and feminine style Easter-inspired attire. We also love the combination of lovely spring colours and mint bridesmaid gowns that look fresh and are pleasing to the eyes.

Wedding Cake Ideas for an Easter Wedding

Not a fan of tall, multi-tiered wedding cakes? You don’t need a massive dessert adorned with intricate beading and sparkles or a cake with an elaborate design for your reception. Making your DIY cake is definitely the best way to add a personal touch to your wedding dessert.

Put your favourite wedding flowers on top, or complete the look with a cute animal wedding topper. Then, add those chocolate bunnies, mini eggs, and lambs to decorate the cake table. Avoid making the mistake of creating a whole rabbit-shaped wedding cake, but just give a subtle nod to the holiday while maintaining the dessert’s delicious flavor.

Reception Decor for an Easter Wedding

Spring colours, like blush pink, sky blue, soft lavender, and mint green, match an Easter-inspired wedding perfectly. Pastel rainbow balloons and glitter confetti are a fantastic way to incorporate those fun and happy hues into your reception. Ditch the fancy tableware, lace runner or table cloth, and expensive vases. Instead, opt for a big flower jar for massive blooms and create an Easter-themed tablescape with rabbit ornaments and decorative eggs.

If you're feeling creative, why not make some easy DIY decorations, like custom, handmade flower baskets filled with pink lilies and greenery? Or turn it into a DIY project with your crafty friends and family. Decorate the reception with a wedding garland made with flowers or balloons or a mixture of both.

Wedding Photo Shoot Ideas for an Easter Wedding

It’s common to see pictures of a bride holding a wedding bouquet of cascading flowers and greeneries. But for an Easter-inspired wedding, a bride carrying a basket of flowers is a nice twist to the traditional portrait. A photo of the bride smiling sweetly and arms linked with her beautiful bridesmaids will also remain iconic and should be part of the wedding album.

Get the breathtaking confetti photo while capturing authentic emotion on your wedding day. Take shots of the happy bride holding an adorable live rabbit, slicing the cake, or carrying a flower-filled birdcage for a garden party-themed Easter celebration.

Portrait Props for an Easter Wedding

If you can deal with cute aggression, take a photo with a rabbit for fab bunny wedding photos. You’re lucky if you have one as a pet since you already know how this sweet darling behaves. But if it’s someone else’s pet, make sure the owner is present and use natural light to keep your subject comfortable and happy.

Besides the live rabbit, those decorative bunnies, flowers, and colourful Easter eggs also make incredible portrait props. Instead of hiring a photo booth with the usual props, convert the corner of your venue or pick a space you can turn into a photo area and use some of your décor elements as photo props.

Ceremony Decor for an Easter Wedding

You’ll want to get your hands on lively, bright-coloured ceremony décor and spring flowers, like tulips, pansies, daffodils, and snowdrops. Create some drama by lining your walkway with florals as you walk down the aisle and dress up the altar with hanging flowers or rainbow balloons to bring life and fun to the ceremony area.

The colour scheme will also set the tone for the special day, so don’t forget to add something cheery to the combination. For an organic feel, how about combining the soft spring hues with chic, rustic elements, like whitewashed chairs and loose greenery? There are seriously a bunch of ways to decorate your ceremony venue for an Easter-themed wedding.

Favours & Gifts for an Easter Wedding

There’s no doubt that homemade chocolates make outstanding wedding gifts and favours for an Easter celebration. But you can be a bit more creative and unpredictable than giving out chocolate eggs as a token of appreciation to your guests.

Since Easter is about a new beginning and one of the most exciting spring celebrations, allow your guests to give life to new plants and wildflowers with seed bombs. It’s a perfect eco-friendly wedding favour you can quickly put together. Plus, Mother Nature will thank you for gifting the guests something that can help the environment. But if you aren’t into gardening, you can give away bunny-shaped soaps or mini woven baskets.

From Ashlee: “The shoot started as a simple bridal beauty shoot and then turned into an inspiration shoot and we did the whole thing in a corner of my living room! I am a big crafter and I love anything DIY so I made a bunch of easy DIY decorations and desserts for an Easter or spring themed wedding with a colour palette of pink, mint, green, and gold. I wanted to mix the soft spring colours and a little bit of a rustic, organic feeling that spring has along with some glam vintage vibes to dress it up a bit.

All of the details were made or purchased locally by myself. The mint bridesmaids dresses are from Marshalls and cost just $12.99 each – which goes to show that you can still be super cute on a spring wedding without breaking the bank. As an alternative idea one of the models brought her own lovely vintage yellow gown and I thought that this just perfect for an Easter wedding!”
