Disadvantages
- Hot summers
Being a desert town, Las Vegas has extremely hot summers. It is not uncommon to see triple digits from June through September. But at least it is dry heat so there is little humidity.
- Water supply
Las Vegas is a city of lawns, landscapes, and golf courses. The city’s water usage exceeds that of Los Angeles and San Francisco by 30 and you may find this issue to be a downfall for some things during your film shoot.
- Too much noise
Unless you head out to the desert, you will notice the bright lights, noise, and crowds in Las Vegas. It is a gambling, partying, and entertainment city so if you do not like this idea, consider somewhere out of the town center.
Famous Locations in Las Vegas
- Fremont Street Experience
Fremont Street is a pedestrian-only experience in Old Downtown Las Vegas. The colors and designs from the overhead LED lights to add depth and entertainment to the walk experience. Outside entertainment is that of street performers and acts along the corridor.
- Helicopter Ride over the Grand Canyon
A helicopter ride from Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon has the added experience of flying over the city, The Strip, the Hoover Dam, and Lake Mead. This ride will take approximately three hours and works well for those on a limited schedule.
- The Neon Museum
This museum pays tribute to the most identifying feature of The Strip—the neon signs. A guided tour through this museum will show the various stages of restoration of these multi-storied signs. Some signs are original, most have been refurbished and some remain a work in progress. The contrasting states of the exhibited signs give visitors an interesting perception into the upkeep and the restoration of these signs.
