The perfect home for filming (I'm a filmmaker myself), this pillared one-level is hidden behind a gated, circular driveway, blanketed in weeping willow trees for privacy and sound barrier.
Lighted trees, wide verandas, two large fountains, a heated pool, firepit, over 20 fruit trees, winding stone pathways, rock gardens, and more.
Inside, an expansive open concept living room and kitchen make for an easy shoot from any angle.
Complete with a beautiful fireplace and mantel tucked off in a corner, the 50' living room has been previously shot as a Malibu drug rehabilitation center, a nursing home community room, a dance floor, a yoga studio/dance school, and has been divided into three separate rooms using flats/painted plywood.
There are 4 of 5 bedrooms available for filming (one is currently an office, but the furniture can be removed). Two of the bedrooms have sliding doors to either the veranda/patio or pool area. The home is a chameleon and very versatile, allowing for nearly any genre and style. The smaller rooms are great for low-income settings, while the foyer, kitchen, and living room can appear grand or small.
There is a gated, cement side yard, perfect for breaks, a designated smoking area, meals/crafty, or for shooting a low-income yard setting.
The garage is attached and large enough for 2 cars plus a workshop, but also available for locking your equipment up overnight for multiday shoots.
There are 3 bathrooms in the house, but (having learned the hard way), if you have more than 15 crew/actors, we prefer you bring porta-potties.
The home offers free wi-fi, central air, and heat. There are multiple large parking lots available just one block away, as well as street parking. There are many local restaurants nearby for catering, and several grocery stores( including Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, and Ralph's), all within walking distance. The garage and circular driveway can support up to 10 cars (depending on size). Larger trucks might not fit through the gates (let us know your truck's width and we can let you know if it will fit). Larger trucks usually park directly in front of the property and run wires through the front gates.
For winter pool shoots, we can heat the pool to your temperature specifications for an additional fee.
Night shoots are welcome; though, we ask that crew size and noise be kept to a minimum at night.
