About the Space
Toronto’s First Post Office tells the stories of life in the town of York and the early city of Toronto (1793-1851). We help Toronto’s current residents and visitors to engage with these stories, particularly through the built heritage of the site. The museum is also a heritage site, and is kept in its original design. Original brick exterior, and interior is styled to be as authentic as possible to time it was built. Our main rental space is our Reading Room, but rentals include use of the Post Office, the Exhibit Room, a small kitchen and washroom. Rental space is available during and after opening hours. However, museum spaces are also available to the public during opening hours. If you require exclusive use of the space, we encourage you to rent after daily operational hours.
