About the Space

This Bohemian Bungalow sits 7 minutes from downtown Atlanta in the historic Lakewood Heights neighborhood. It's a charming 1 story house of 1200 square feet with 10 foot ceilings and loads of history and artistic surprises. All walls and ceilings are treated and all chandeliers are the gorgeous crowning jewels of their rooms. Every surface has been touched (except for the kitchen which still has its 1920's sink and 1950's stove and wacky patterned linoleum from who knows when). I love texture. So you will find that only the bathroom and Master bedroom have smooth walls. So, in the extra-large bathroom you will find the texture on the floor instead. I made that a cobbled granite myself (I'll never lay tile again). You'll really love photographing my dining room walls. It took me about a year to finish this multilayered feast for the eyes. I wanted it to resemble a clay pot that had been dug up from the earth. It looks and feels great! It's tackle accent walls shows off the plaster lathe that hides behind it and an African mask greets you. The brightest spot in the house is the office with it's cathedral ceiling and floor to ceiling full view French doors which spreads across the outer wall to give you a full view of the backyard with it's rustic-contemporary stone slab patio and pergola and 7' statue of Tara the green goddess. Her peaceful image is accentuated by the graffiti painting of Buddha which adorns the full garage door. This house is a little bit of heaven in the middle of the city with it's tall purple hedges that conceal the secret garden within. There are trees and botanical gardens in the front and sides of the house, 2 off-street parking spaces and a driveway long enough to park 5 cars in a row, a faux ivy green screen to block the view into the backyard, and a horizontal fence for rear and side yard neighbor privacy. With each area inside and outside of this house, many different scenes can be set for your production.
