Bright and Aesthetic Studio in London
This studio has been designed by a photographer and so is aesthetically pleasing throughout. With beautiful daylight and a great layout. A good array of coloured backdrop papers, paintable flats for set building and lots of unique features and props, helping you to create your best work.
This is a photo and video studio that believes sustainability is key, and so during our refurbishments we have recycled in excess of 15 tonnes of waste. We also up-cycled to make unique features such as our kitchenette shelves made from our previous window ledges.
Hire fee starts at £70 per hour or £500 per day.
Please note that the published rate and minimum # of hours to book are flexible and it depends on the type of event, days of the week, timings & number of guests. So, it would be best to enquire if you are interested.
The venue may have a separate cancellation policy. For further information, please ask the Event Manager.
Londons' Floating Recording Studio
Once a warning beacon in treacherous seas, Lightship 95 is now moored just off the River Thames and has been converted into a first-class London recording studio. It’s generously sized 10m x 5m live room, dedicated vocal booth, huge air-conditioned and port-holed control room and extensive acoustic treatment built deep in its steel hull never fail to impress. The space is extremely flexible - capable of accommodating anything from expansive jazz ensembles, through delicate string sessions to thunderously heavy rock and metal.
24 tracks of 2” tape, and 40 channels of I/O to Pro Tools, along with a Calrec S2 console and a selection of classic outboard provide ample tracking options for any session, while our unique collection of vintage instruments is always available to provide an extra musical dimension.
Deck areas, including the Tower as well as a variety of internal spaces are available for hire as a location.
The Lightship is one of the last riveted steel vessels to be made in the UK, beautifully and painstakingly constructed. Images in the Studio and Ship galleries’ show some of the detail, features and textures of the ship; providing a unique, interesting backdrop for Fashion, TV and Film shoots.
There is also the option to shoot from the river, coming up to and around the ship and from the beach beneath at low tide.
Inside the studio area we have lighting bars installed in the ceiling, full playback facilities and in-‐ear monitoring for those who dislike the aesthetic of studio headphones. Natural light comes in from a single source and is easily blacked out.
Green room facilities are available and a Café and Diner are close by. Power is single phase and plentiful. 3 Phase power can be arranged.
