Our property is special because it offers a variety of features tucked away within our 4 acres. Most spectacular is 700+ feet of winding water front along the beautiful Bayou Liberty, perfectly illustrating a natural habitat in Louisiana. The ideal scene continues across the water which backs up to a nature park with a hidden boardwalk. This is unique because public access to that boardwalk gives extra potential and even better options for shooting from several different perspectives. Another favorite part of our place is the large live oak trees dripping with Spanish moss; it really doesn’t get much better than that! Originally built in the mid-1900s and with historic significance (or so we’ve heard), there is a gigantic old boat house that has tons of potential for photo shoots and getting that rustic nautical vibe that is a rare find today. The bayou winds along our property in a sprawling zigzag, and was actually the location of the boat chase scene from the1960s James Bond movie: Live and Let Die!
In perfect contrast to the old and rustic Louisiana landscape you’ll find outside, the home itself (the 3rd home built on this site that we know of) was completed in early 2020 and in many ways exemplifies the more “trendy” exterior and interior styles being seen in design today. Some may consider the style to be a modern farmhouse, because of the clean white spaces with black windows and rustic wooden beams. There are also nods to a retro mid-century vibe with some of the lighting and finishing choices. I love the juxtaposition of vintage inspired pieces & elements from nature, mixed in with a luxurious modern bohemian feel that tells a well-traveled story... Much of the decor and style are a work in progress. The best part about that though is we have plenty of room for customizations and fitting our home to your vision!
